Why did I believe in the big lies
the Bush Administration told me?
George Bush said it.
Vice President Cheney said it.
Others said it.
Palestine, Iraq, and Osama Bin Laden
were all connected
like stars
of the Belt of Aryan.
I believed it because I wanted to believe it.
I believed it because
it simplified things.
I believed it because I was too lazy
to check the facts.
So many innocent souls died in Iraq
many more souls with no justice.
Why did I believe in the weapons of mass destruction?
I wanted to believe it.
I was so frustrated in the US.
I'm sorry for believing these things.
My eyes, they had become enamoured of power.
I learned later,
George Bush goes from the gut.
He and the others believed in one person
who lied.
The bombings, night after night.
All you see are flashes of light,
the tentacles of power
stretching into the darkness, fishing out
morsels of flesh.
you wonder...
what has happened?
We've all being lied to.
The person who lied to the Bush Administration
wanted a war with Iraq.
The Bush Administration wanted a war with Iraq.
As long as the goals meet,
lies become irrelevant.
the dark wishes, the ambition,
the long fingers of longing,
the sound of those dying from the light.
Neoconservatives who manipulate religious people
for political purposes.
People who believe that God has given them the right to kill other people to spread God's kingdom.
Corporations who don't care if people die as long as their share of the market is increased.
People with a talent for war, but no talent to create the agendas when war has ended.
I wonder...
where are we going?
