Can you solve this riddle?

I hope people will excuse my plug for a mini writing success I have recently achieved.

Last month I was commissioned by a holiday company to write a weekly blog.

In my latest blog I include a riddle with a nautical theme. So far no one has managed to solve it.

To find the riddle simply go to the blog and scroll down till you come to the subheading: ‘One for you to solve’.

I promise you there is a logical solution to this and I’ll give you one small tip: the answer is an actual date on the calendar.

If you have any thoughts about what the solution might be, please feel free to leave a comment on the blog:

Thank you and good luck.

I think it must be some play on Land Lockie Hughes Day - but I can't get any further and I must use my brain for other stuff now. pip pip tc
Interesting suggestion Tony, but the answer lies in a different direction. It all hinges on an ambiguity. Lockie actually names the day on which his business is open, but he does it so clumsily that his words can be interpreted in another way. In fact most people reading his message would assume he must be open all the time. Now I've all but given it away.
Not to me you haven't! Brain is vaguely engaged (which is about as good as it gets these days) so i shall cogitate this evening.
July 24.

I doubt the ABCtales community is holding its collective breath over this, but just in case, all will be revealed tomorrow.
Congratulations to trashbat for being the first person to crack this. The solution to my riddle and full explanation can now be read on my latest blog. To find it simply scroll down to the bottom of the page: http://blog.virginholidayscruises.co.uk/great-cruising-nations-of-the-earth
Is it November the 5th?
It isn't. I loved your Peach story by the way. http://www.abctales.com/story/robertgardner/peach
It's far too simple - I was looking for something really deep and clever there. Ho hum. It's amazing how you can walk straight past the obvious! Nice one.
I laughed my socks off at this. I read the riddle and thought Xmas Day? Then I saw the ansa. Brilliant!
