Moving House!

Some of the more eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that I am not on here as often as is my wont of late. I am deep in the throws of moving house - and ABCtales inc. - from Brighton to Devon.

I'd just like to record my eternal thanks to those of you who are keeping up the editing and the management of the site whilst I sort out my life. After 22 years here - where we've raised three children (who have left heaps of detritus in their wake), run a business and my wife has had her art studio, this is a move and a half. Everything has to be sorted, cleared, boxed and packed. I am taking up residence at the dump. My wife's store room took four car loads today - and it isn't finished. Never marry an artist who specialises in recycled sculpture.

Ho Hum - two weeks today we'll be in the new place (if we exchange on time!) - and the nice people from Sky should turn up two days later to put in broadband and the rest. At that point I will begin to return to you but until then I am in the hands of the fantastic helpers who are keeping this site running.

Hurrah for them all!

Good luck Tony. What a great county to move to. My only concern is that at the next election this move doesn't jeopardise the Green Party's chances.

Thankyou all for your good wishes - I am now surrounded by packing cases. It's taken three days to load up the office alone! Still - we have just exchanged on the property in Devon so everything will now go through according to plan. Woo hee!

Thankyou all - first piece of major stress came today. I had ordered TV, phone and broadband with Sky - reluctantly I admit - but it was a good deal and they could put it all in within two days of the move. I phoned up today to see if I could get my new phone number and they now tell me that only the TV goes in on the day - the phone line has to wait two weeks and the broadband comes a week after that! I was not a happy bunny. I was not told any of that when I made the order. An email has gone to Customer Services on the basis that this was mis-selling and so far, no response. Two weeks without a phone and three weeks without broadband - it's just not possible in this day and age. Back to wrapping, sorting, chucking and packing. Pass the bubble wrap.

new T.cook Hi! Tony,Sorry read things chaotic. I am afraid sign of the times to-day. I know,we don't seem to be so efficient now.Especially new things?Beds?brand new, etc; wnated to mend divans,no we got 2 new ones again. I could make a list.I really curse the mobile,and emails not answered even to daughter's birthday.etc;or important message. Thankyou answer.But AbcTales stated,if hear of new webs; etc;say.I love bubble wrap,good to pop get any stress out. Well get that Teabag out and hot water,or something stronger,things work out. I worked in Bournemouth for a while.an relations,in Somerset.I am sure it is a beautiful place,and your be near your family and the beautiful grandaughter. Thankyou all your help,and a great Editor for ABCTales. But a phone be essentail to you.Course your not happy bunny. ABC mugs,you kindly delivered still going well. all the best. julie AbcTales
