The Sweetness of the Blade

Pain seeps through my very pores,
I can't stop the hurt,
The only way I know how is to cut,
I sit on the cold hard bathroom floor,
My back against the bath,
I need to cut,
It would hurt the ones I love,
I must resist the urge,
I can not do it and must not do it,
It is building up deep within me,
The pain wants to escape,
I have to do it,
I place the blade against my wrist,
The flat side against my skin,
The cool sweetness of the blade,
It calls me to cut my pale flesh,
It calls me to release the pain,
It calls for me to cut,
I can’t defy my pain anymore,
I slide the blade across my pale flesh,
And feel the sweet kiss of it,
When the red blood flows from my wrist,
The pain is released,
The cut was worth it,
My pain is released finally,
I am at peace in my mind,
Thanks to the sweetness of the blade.
