Wheatsheaf wonder-night

What a brilliant night it was.
I'm just so proud to be a part of this amazing writing community.
Rob sorted the mike out as usual, the anonymous rent-payer stumped up again and Tony compered like a pro.
All I do is book the night with the landlord, which takes about a minute.
From the talent on offer last night, I'm sure that a good few more published authors will have Abctales to thank in the not too distant future.
A record £185 was gathered from the lovely folk who came along, all of which goes to Railway Children, the charity for runaways and street children.

It was a great night, really good to put faces to names that i've followed since my time on ABCtales. I thought the readings were brilliant, each one had their own style and rythm. A big thank you to all who organised!

new Jolono Read so well! Different kinds and ways of writing and reading, all skilled, writer's poem and stories. Hi! Fantastic night! I have read now see you are the one, told story and read, so well of the "Saxophonist". Was brilliant, only one glass lemonade! and I laughed! my little socks off! Can't agree more I had a smashing time thanks for having me, and my friend Ashley loved it too

And I didn't poo everywhere, which is always a bonus

Congratulations to everyone who read last night. Just by looking at the reader list I can tell it must have been a wonderful evening. Now then, sparing a thought for us peasants north of the Watford Gap, who among you smart persons utilised your smartphone to capture the event on video?
Wonderful evening and for me - these events get better and better. I don't like to single people out for praise but what the hell. Scratch - you can be as morose as you like - brilliant-- Stan - I would come along just to hear you read to be frank, Jolono - what a brilliant story told with your usual panache, but I have to be honest and say that Sid's poems were so awe inspiring that how my GLW and I stopped ourselves from standing and applauding I don't know. I loved everyone's work - so diverse and every one showed their own glint of stardust (to borrow from Scratch).

new Lavadis Great meet all again. Agree with all you said. Owing to sometimes hearing aid,not pick up all, you read well,I think it was one about son! Am I right. Did I sit next to you, maybe wear a tag or name on! refreshing memories. Perfect evening all different styles poems, and stories. Sad,laughter! intriguing, love nature music. All brilliant. Scratche's "Stardust" nearly tear-drop fell! julie x

As always, I am so jealous. When in London I always pop in to see Tony and co (shows how long it's been) and I love the ABC do's. I keep saying I'll make the next one. Would love to meet some of the people I admire so much as writers, and meet up with old mates. I think the current gang are the most talented ever. In the meantime any chance of a Manchester meet? PLEASE! not shouted, just over emphasised.
