Big Bad (14th January, 2012)
All the better to see you with,
my saucered, yellow eyes
glint in the blackness;
the veil of night drawn close
around the world.
I hear you whisper to my soul,
curled in your bed asleep,
with my long, furred ears;
all the better to hear
you dream of me.
Arch my tongue across my big, sharp
teeth, lick my aching lips;
all the better to
taste you with when I bite
your sweet, pale hide.
I’ve been watching the path that leads
through the towering trees, to
your village home. I’ve
been waiting, out in these
cold woods, alone.
I draw red stains on the white path
as victims bloom and bleed.
Sometimes you pass in
your scarlet cloak; I reach
out, but don’t touch.
I’ll wait ‘til your need becomes too
great; ‘til you call my name
into the shame of
your pillow, throw off those
human shackles;
‘til you yearn for my dark, hot fur
pressed to your pearl-white skin.
I will set your heart
aglow, light fire in snow;
and I’ll be home.
