On Board The Jammy Dodger

Once upon a time there was a family of sea travellers called the Wailers .
There was eight boys , four girls and Mum and Dad Wailer .
Everyone of them lived on board the Jammy Dodger , their home at sea .

It was a tall ship with lots of hiding places and there was always lots of fun to be had , sailing away , everyday . ot , while Sammy and Brendan crawled around on deck after their two little sisters Rona and Rita .

Each day was a new adventure for the Wailers Dad , who would show the eldest of the family how to hand feed whales , while the ship rested upon their humpy backs .

Diving into the water was Mums speciality and when she surfaced with a hand full of shellfish . a loud cheer would ring out all around the ship,

Life was good , sailing on the open sea .

One morning as Mum hoisted the nappies up , she noticed in the distance , another ship . She lowered the bucket of dirty nappies into the ocean and went on to lift some of the hens eggs for breakfast .
By the time breakfast was served , a band of hungry pirates had boarded the Jammy Dodger .

After eating up all the Wailers eggs and drinking all the milk, they tied up the entire crew .

The pirate captain was small and thin .
He had lots of straggly hair on his head /
Most of his teeth were missing and his tongue often stuck out between the gaps in his teeth .
His voice was harsh and he had bad breath .

All the pirates had dirty finger nails and never wore any shoes .
The captain stood on the deck of the Jammy Dodger . As he lent back he said

“Well me Bucko’s , Ha Ha this ship will do us very nicely . Ha Ha ”

It was almost dinner time on the Jammy Dodger and the pirates wanted fed but so did the three babies and the five toddlers and the four crawlers and all of the animals and Mum and Dad .

Mum and Dad Wailer were set free to cook some food , but the fun begun when the hungry hump back whale surfaced with the Jammy Dodger on its back ..

Three pirates jumped off the ship into the water as the cat ran up the mast after the mouse . The nappy line fell down on the rest of the pirates who were all in a tangle .

Mum and Dad set free all the Wailers who jumped up and down on the pirates bellies . Eventually they handed over their secret treasure map to the Wailers
In return the Wailers let the pirates leave their ship in one piece and board back upon their own ship

The pirates sailed away to the East as the Jammy Dodger sailed across the smooth blue sea to the West , steering a path towards the horizon that hung a setting sun to tell the world that another day was over and done .
Beyond the horizon lay another day , over the edge , into another world , the tall ship was bound in search of the lost treasure of Smugglers Cove .

The voyage to Smugglers Cove was dangerous .
The three babies were all teething at the time and some of the crawlers needed a nappy change while the rest of the Wailers did their best to comfort everyone in that sad situation there and the Jammy Dodger was tossed like a toy upon the choppy sea , as the crew all said together in one voice ,

“Look it’s the lost treasure of Smugglers Cove . “

Indeed it was right there before their very eyes , floating on top of the sea .
There it was , a big wooden chest with a great big gem stone on the lid .
There was something very strange about the chest , for each time they almost grabbed hold of it , a wave pushed it further away out of reach .

Three days later , the crew of the Jammy Dodger were so fed up and tired
of trying to haul the chest on board that they let it go , but strange things began to happen , for the old chest seemed to follow the Jammy Dodger.

Suddenly all around them the sea seemed to rise up ,like a mountain
and within seconds the Jammy Dodger was spinning around and around in a whirlpool .

During this time all of the babies grew up in a matter of seconds into adults as Mum and Dad became little babies .

As the animals on board found their voice they began to tell the funniest stories you could ever imagine . Just then as the Wailers were in the grip of heavy laughter , the Jammy Dodger was swallowed up by a huge whale and there inside the belly of the hump back whale, the Wailers grabbed hold of the treasure chest and as the lid was opened up , the whale blew the Jammy dodger out of its blow hole spout and the treasure was once again as lost as it ever had been before and in that second ,the babies became babies again and Mum and Dad became Mum and dad again and the crew who had been at sea now, for a very long time , decided that they would head for shore and with the voyage over the Wailers returned to tell the world of their fantastic voyage and the experience that they met out there on the open sea .
