Stay the course

You gave up your desires for a reward
that few have bitten from before
faith is how far you will go in the face of fear
that giving up your desires will leave you with nothing,and empty,in the end.

A mighty struggle rages under your skin
cold slices and shreds within
yet courage tells you not to give in to pain
that if you falter just once
the mighty arrow ,upon you, shall descend.

Addictions shall challenge men time and again
forging mighty battles within
staying the course shall be the only friend
to lend steel to body and heart,
and allow your soul to mend.
