Body Language

If I search the waves of memory
for a subtle reason why, you seem to gallop through my mind
then I must admit, my ship was lost, before she left port
Not to the tempest, nor monsters of the deep, one finds
but to dark, foreboding eyes, a fragrant wrist and sharp retort
Your body language denied, the true weight of cargo, that you brought...
On reflection and from experience, I should have known
From casting off, I set the sails, shot the stars and read our charts
But the way you touched your neck, ultimately steered our course
while I imagined that same touch, would definitely calm, any wild horse
Body language, in any accent, is not solely, the language of willing hearts
On many raging seas, it indicates dangerous signs and uncharted reefs
where lust is shipwrecked and love lost, to dark foreboding eyes, of grief
and sunken, scattered emotions, remain unseen: Wrecked in disbelief
Your body language simply defied the misery laying covered, not so far beneath!

I like the the idea of body
I like the the idea of body language being described as a ship leaving port and your journey of discovery...the need to be aware in the end, showing that all isn't as it seems. Very clever poem, which I very much enjoyed reading. Jenny.
