A Man Needs Space

No time to get changed out
Of my greasy work clothes,
They will have to stay on,
Theres no time to waste,
I can't be late, I have an
Important date.
Sorted, phone turned off,
Me mars Irish stew from a week
Or two, is just as tasty cold, at
least it hasn't got mold,
like the toad in the hole.
I'm in my comfy black leather
Chair, thats a bit worn like me,
But still has life left in it yet.
Not bad for a freebie that
Was won fare and square
In a dare, or was it playing cards
With a m8, when we had
A few beers.
He was left In a right state
when he realized the next day
That he bet away his
300 pound chair, that was
A present from is beloved
Claire. who then left him
because she said he didnt
Care. oh those were the
Days.
Right,Iv been to the loo,so
Nothing else to do
Apart from wait for my
favorite film,shooter
To come on TV.
But just as it starts,a
knock at the door, makes
me sore,as a squeaky voice
Echoes through my letterbox.
'Karl you Better let me in'.
That's the misses, who said
She wouldn't be over tonight
So much for a night on
Me own, I just hope she doesnt
moan while i'm watching the film
Or i'll send her home.

I agree, the man needs his
I agree, the man needs his space - and I'd give him as much as he needs and more. This made me smile.
Enjoyed,

Prettyrose, you made me smile, too. As I read it, I could see the scenario playing out right in front of my eyes.
