The Lady in red -- is back
to the library again
gives me a wink
the kind that can chill a spine
with goose bumps of love
wore a parade of clothes
for the weather, with a wild
hat that mattered --
what’s in those shoes catches
my breath
each time picking up a wink
must be the hat I wear,
covers the grey that I have --
haven’t seen her for a spell
must have scooted off
somewhere
with a lad who lives nearby.
I miss her red shoes, those
winks and legs
strutting on by. I know
I’ll remember
those legs a very long time.
