waters of love

How have they become so vague
Stirred up
And so opaque?
For while our eyes
Now so seldom meet
I think of us
Between the sheets
Messing about
With kisses sweet
This –our- aching intimacy.
I need to know …Is the innocence
Of our friendship lost
in an act of lust?
The act has happened.
We are not as we were.
Our lives now are muddied
By actions
Now a distorted blur.
But as I look at you across the room
I taste your scent
And my heated heart
Slowly shudders to a quake.
