Can't say I understand all
Can't say I understand all your musings here, Tina. But I'm happy that scripture makes clear that Jesus is coming back, but that will be the culmination of all, - yes the resurrection of the dead, but also a judgement, so that it is so important to have sought his forgiveness now, and be waiting for him. Then there will be a new order, not temporary. The images about a thousand years are interpreted either as a time of more widespread faith before he so comes, or yes, some sort of interim time before the finish of this now imperfect earth ( but I can't see that) or widely, a symbol of the time between his first coming (to Bethlehem and Calvary) and this second coming - the time when his good news of forgiveness through his death was to be, and still is, preached to all.
Don't mean to go on, just trying to see where you're coming from in some of above, really.
Hope you are having a happy weekend. Rhiannon

Good one Tina
I like the way you create a sense of scepticism from asking questions without providing answers, and let the reader's brain do the rest of it. And the closing reference to the Wizard of Oz seals it nicely.

Very intelligent and
Very intelligent and thoughtful write for an Easter Sunday, Tina. I ponder the same questions from time to time. I like seeing it in one neat package.
