Dearest Catastrophe

Rape is a journey,
Rape is an attack:
Take me, leave me,
then don't take me back.
"I didn't know," you say.
You didn't know...
with fires as horrid,
they spread through your home--
every Autumn. I can walk
every Autumn. You cannot.
You say, "I
didn't know."
strolling through
the fires in disguise
as the embers, I wonder,
Can I have a "good time"?
"You can," you say,
"We should."
Oh, I've tried.
Time and again--
no fire extinguisher
to whiten your lies, or
pacify them
Let's lay on remains
of your sofa and have
a "good time"--it's Spring,
the fireplace ablaze.
I'll stroke your burnt
and bloody corpse,
cuddling, and whisper in
what's left of your ear:
"Rape is a journey,
Rape is an attack:
Take me, leave me,
then don't take me back."

A fiery angry poem. It must
A fiery angry poem. It must take a lot of courage to write it and publish it here; I notice you have listed it as autobiography. Well done, it's good. Elsie
