Abomination
By HesterPrynne
- 1184 reads
alone and bitter she knows things better left unspoken;
her prayers go unanswered,
her dreams plague her
with monstrous abominations…
one more sleepless night, no one hears
as she cries for mercy
and wishes for a way out,
a way to let go…..
still strong is the human will to live
she clings to life with a fearful grip
while loneliness greets madness….
The ever welcoming loss of sanity
with open arms, subtle at first
it lulls her…offering
an escape route.
Just in case anyone cares to look
on a piece of a paper she writes these words,
“To whom it may concern..”
and she laughs as the blood spills
a red waterfall, it pours on the floor
into her tea cup, and in her mouth
she delights in the coppery taste of life
and the spinning darkness of death.
Death reached for her.
without hesitation she goes
and never looks back,
nor does she gaze forward.
Time and space no longer matter
the emptiness becomes oblivion
the days and nights blend,
and finally, finally she rests.
