Told my boy today -
my big bear
of a man; a gorilla,
balding under the sun -
first child, six foot tall,
black wire curling
from his shirt, instead of fine
remembered gold; my boy
today. Big men cry.

Short and sweet
I liked this for its brief and highly effective description of the man, and the contrast of the image the last line plants in the mind. Nice one Bee.

The buggy photo , the grown
The buggy photo , the grown up boy crying with his balding head, the word economy that leaves you to imagine. Made me tearful. A poignant piece.

So sad
It's so sad to see a big strong man cry yet of course they have emotions like the rest, sometimes more. This is a very poignant poem.

Good to have that
Good to have that relationship with a grown-up son. And for a son to be strong enough to be willing to cry and show it. Rhiannon

This sent a chill down my spine
Bee, this is heart wrenching. We can only guess at what he was told and why he cried.
So much in so few words excellent work
