‘Excuse Me for My Suicide’

As writers we have the ability to voice our views on practically any issue we consider relevant or worthy of our passion, to an often unseen audience who confirm the need for love, life, happiness & positive change. In my voice, from within the passion I have as a writer, parent & youth advocate, this piece is dedicated to the greater awareness of youth suicide in our world.
"Excuse me for my suicide"
but too many look away in shame
or lower their heads in silence
but never cover your eyes
from what should be seen
speak in your strongest voice
and say what should be said
try to look at the cause and recognize
that it’s clearly something more
than just some crazy mixed up kid
yet we ignore the failure buried in such apathy
most no longer know how to stop their fall
don’t see the dangers of their youth
in fact, it’s probably fair to say
that many kids aren’t known at all
so help them work through their fears, their pain
ask each day, “Are you really okay?”
and let them know how loved they are and why
build their confidence, their self esteem
help them build on their strengths today
give them reasons to endure and to achieve
and when they fear the things sent to test them
show them that you had to face those fears too
how they taught you to believe in life
helped you believe in you
believe in butterflies and angels
believe in what it means being true
teach them to believe there is no failure
if they believe in living life
in everything
they try to do…

Some perceptive points of
Some perceptive points of understanding of the struggles of teenage years. So many are afraid to try to teach their young anything, and afraid to get close even, and listen and understand and share and love. Rhiannon
