Abundance

"Less is more" they say, a mantra of those who have been secure in life.
Those of us who have known real deprivation know better.
Bring on the abundance, fuel our days and sleepless nights with unchained hedonism.
Overload our senses until we can't imagine life without these petty pleasures.
Feed our hunger until we explode from the excess, until we beg for the abundance to stop.
Still we know better, we were starved too long. No gluttonous feast will satisfy us now.
We'll claw for glorious moments of fleeting fulfillment,
covering the bottomless pits we're digging
with a thin veneer of sticks and leaves.

!
This is really good.
I admire the understated disdain (contempt/bitterness might be more appropriate words) for those smug and patronising types who spout aphorisms and think that they know best when actually they know little or nothing.
Really good, this.

Your work is highly original,
Your work is highly original, Aresem. Would like to read a lot more of it.
As far as the poem in hand is concerned, amazing stuff - producing this in just 10 short minutes.
