'She Sells'

‘She Sells’
By average village standards
many would say that
she had big ambitions
Wanting to grow her business
into something special
known for having the freshest
fruit & vegetables in the county
She knew the aesthetic value of
perfect presentation & never missed
a chance to create the desired effect
By any vendor’s standards
she was far above average
She seemed to know exactly what her
customers wanted before they asked
She had noticed him immediately
Perhaps because she likened his
reddened cheeks to strawberries,
his prominent nose to a perfect banana
& his lips like that first smooth taste
of French Vanilla ice cream
She knew what he wanted!
So as he approached, she thrust
her melons forward to the front
of the counter & warmly smiled
But instead, he reached past their ripeness
& deliberately squeezed her peach
“I’d like a piece of that!” he said
“Be careful what you wish for!” she replied

Hahaha... Cheers for that. I thought I'd have a bit of fun with a cheeky perspective... I blame the influence of the late Ronnie Barker for this piece... When I read what the IP was, all I could see was a script for one of his famous one liners. Glad you liked it... I have a feeling they may have known eachother's produce before the day in question.
