Taking is Giving

I showed him my scars
and he took them in with dry eyes
and all seriousness. I took
his first finger and traced the line
that tracked a ragged stream dividing
north from the south of my x self.
And he didn't flinch,
or show disgust. I trusted him
when he took my hand and told me
things would turn out
fine from now on. And I saw a man
I thought I had,
but hadn't really known before
the taking and giving.

Love is infinite, no matter
Love is infinite, no matter what obstacles get in our way. When we have to face trials in our lives, it is so much easier with a loved one by your side and the taking and giving becomes effortless.
Loving words spoken in this poem Bee.

Love can reach a wound that
Love can reach a wound that only compassion and empathy can heal, dear Bee. Such beauty in you, and in your words.

Sometimes it's hard to accept a man's love is not....
just about his woman's body, especially these days, but I am sure most intelligent and simple men love their mate for the pleasure her character gives him more than the pleasure he gets from her body.
If that was not the case I do not believe there would be so many elderly couples around.
You have a good man, Bee.
