Lonely Sounds – The Poetry Lounge
Sitting here in a coffee shop .
and these lonely sounds never stop .
The coughs and laughs, muffled to me .
Silver spoons falling to the ground .
China plates clinking , lonely sound .
Lonely sounds of a coffee lounge ,
There’ no escape it just surrounds .
Pouring inside my ears and head ,
TV show and the things they said .
pull the ring from a can of beer .
slurp in the throat and then its clear .
lonely the word, needs to be heard .
Nobody hears it running scared
nobody feels the pounding heart .
loneliness tears it all apart .
constant chatter is all I hear .
Endless this and that in my ear .
Scrambled noise ,but big boys don’t fear , .
a friendly ghost seems to appear .
I’ve got to get on out of here .’
Lonely sounds in a ghost café .
Its poetry I heard them say.’
Shuffle your way up to the mic.
Say whatever it is you like .
Lonely sounds and a mix of muse
Sit down for a while , chill , defuse .
The tea’s not wet , the brew is weak.
Listen to those who never speak.
Another poet takes the floor.
Donations are welcome at the door.
Prevalence for rhyming actors there .
Looking for benefactors here .
Poetry there’s a lonely sound ,
Its everywhere , spread it around.
