How do I write “mother”
I’ve painted this, the word
it’s image birthed
with watered pigment;
reds and orange blackish browns,
set within the line of shape, drawn in forms,
contained depiction
of perception’s take.
wetted pigments set with brush
on virgin white expanse,
held fast beneath my strokes
but a moment...in advance
chosen for its structure kind
this unsubstantial papered ground
lacked capacity to pace,
and hold to place
the painted drops,
turned seeping drips
In creep escape, the color mix
combined in unified source
turned force, displaced
once formed boundary
to soiled saturation
of deconstructing pulp
origin image made...onpoint
evolved, altered, merged,
diminished not
the word’s intent,
it’s meaning clear, remains...

On first reading I find "How do I write Mother" chilling, dark, and extremely powerful. The way the word dissolves the paper, the way the paint overflows its boundaries ... there are some exquisite lines: "Wetted pigments set with brush on virgin white expanse". True poetry! .
