Brain Aneurysm

Brain Aneurysm
It came like a comet
after a background of music
an exhibition of joy
crowds competing for rides
and the sky filled with sound.
I saw the movement
swirl like a cotton-batten
clump that danced
its way to me and paused
above my head.
Amazed I was at the
symphony meant for me.
Then jubilation
turned to pain and the horror
image of my head
exploding in all directions.
I slowly twisted round and around
until I collapsed on the ground
folks running to see.
An ambulance can double as
a coffin or gateway to helping
to save someone like me. And doctors
proclaimed after many tests and I did
hook-up like robo-man. They said
demurely – a leaking aneurysm.
Serious I asked and yes it was so.
Oh Lord I proclaimed I’m too young
to go and unforgiveness is not
restful in my soul. He heard my
plea and in Halifax the neurosurgeon
said don’t know what happened
but it sealed itself – now go home.
And I did.

Thank goodness for good care
Thank goodness for good care and caring people at the heart of it. One step at a time is true enough. Glad you have that faith.
