Conceived In Isolation

Will sweet nectar of her
garden be too much to resist?
Hunger ancient and mysterious
as liquid ambrosia given to gods.
Filling time in cautious solitude
needs to meander on impulse,
a yearning! That language
only two can fulfill,
they trip on ferment of
feminine yearnings, his
untamed barriers down
caught up in her allure,
cocooned in isolation,
marooned relief of
diverted passions avail,
appetite dispelling hunger,
inclined to procreation in
these importunate times,
fleshy desires clinched
conjuring blossom cheeks,
spurge of liquid flows,
their egg now nested
as deepness of longing
gaze with warmth glows.

This is a very passionate poem, Jenny. I imagine there might be a flurry of babies as well as divorces once this is over. There are aspects of an extended Christmas to lockdown. Romantic for some, less so for others. I like this poem's ties to Spring and isolation. Rachel :)

It also makes me think of the beautiful weather we're having at the moment - depending on where you are, I suppose. The kind of lovely warmth that makes you feel you are wrapped up in the moment - even indoors!

Hi Jenny,
Hi Jenny,
This thought occurred to me only yesterday, that with everybody cooped up indoors there would be a flurry of deliveries around the corner. You put this very physical act into words quite convincingly.
Best Wishes,
Hilary
