is a survivor on the
edge. He reeks - wears
give-aways - pees his pants
and belches no matter
where. He’s human.
Scoots around town
on his bicycle
can’t afford a helmet
safer on the
sidewalk - doesn’t try to
break the law just
bends it-
charms everyone
he knows
smiling says it all.
A little nip now
and then gives him speed.
Now bottle to lips
a glow grows in his belly
gurgles familiar
legs outstretched
his audience on the street
arrives with
sympathy in their eyes
flowing tears prove
he’s still
that little boy
who always hugged mom.
