I remember when my sons were little seeing a small child in a pushchair being smacked across the head by the parent who was saying 'don't hit your sister!'

Is that image copyright free?

Yes some families call that parenting, my own family were 'hard" men, boxers, fighters, military and the violence flowed through the generations, my grandfather was bare knuckle champion of our town, but he would go to church on a sunday, then go and fight, make money and go to the pub... then sometimes he'd come home and beat granny. I broke that cycly with my own son. He just knew love and learning. I'm pretty sure the picture is ok, I found it on a website and there was no comment on copywriite. Thank you for reading and commenting, that "clip" around the head is still everywhere. 

If there is a problem with the picture for anyone i'll happily delete it in a heartbeat, i'm not here for negativity just to enjoy words, and peoples stories. Everyone has one, they don't think they do, but if you listen long enough a diamond falls out.

Hi - about the picture - it's just that we are a charity and we run on donations only, so we can't afford to be sued for using someone else's picture (it really does happen) - that's why we're so vigilant about making sure the images are all copyright free. Apologies if that makes things awkward! We use Google images and Flckr when we need something for the site as it's easy to search in their creative commons list
