The Storm : All Blow Away
By David Kirtley
- 800 reads
Storm comes to cleanse the world or at least this land,
All Blow away, the cobwebs and corruption, lies and deceit.
Blow away the plastic, oceans of plastic piling up,
Swimming with the submarines in the sea.
Blow away the U Boats, never to fire a torpedo or a missile evermore.
Blow away the tinpots, the mad emperors in Russia, and the little napoleons in their heads.
Take your shirt off and show off your muscles!
You are a ‘Tarzan’, and you have come to take over the whole world,
Spoiling our democracies with your playful lies.
Throw another spanner in the works for the weak west,
And see them struggle again with their sense of purpose
.
They have slithered out of Afghanistan like beaten snakes,
But what they don’t seem to realise is half the world wants to follow them back to their homelands and be like them.
Get a social security number, and work in the lands of paradise,
where the only thing to worry about is whether you’re willing to work until you drop

Yes if only something would
Yes if only something would blow the tinpots" away for good. I'm not sure there is a wind strong enough. Powerful stuff, David. Paul

That first stanza stands out
That first stanza stands out to me a lot, it represents how I feel, especially in those first three lines. Wouldn't it be great if we could just blow away problems? But then again I suppose we need the bad to balance out the good.
Great idea for the I P.
Jenny.
