Innocent Skin

God it hurt to love him. Our love blazed everything and everyone in its path, leaving nothing in its wake but a pile of flattened rubble. The depth of my feeling was far below sea level, depriving me of air and bathing me in the darkness of his soul. I drowned in his words, sweet like honey. His whispers crawled along my skin, until every strand of hair stood amongst the goosebumps. I took refuge in his brain, despite the unpredictable weather. He was strong, yet fragile, and when he cracked, I cracked too. Each shard of glass a dagger to my chest, until I stopped oozing love and began to ooze blood. I was a leaky faucet that stained innocent skin red.

This has a hint of fantasy
This has a hint of fantasy about it, reminded me of a book I once read called Soldier Boy. There's some inspiring descriptions, like:-
Each shard of glass a dagger to my chest, until I stopped oozing love and began to ooze blood. I was a leaky faucet that stained innocent skin red.
I found this quite compelling.

Captures the nature of all
Captures the nature of all consuming love and passion. As Jenny said, some lovely pieces of description.
