The Missing Seventh
One by one the deadly took their places
Round the table gathered all the vices
A summit of evil to curse the human race
Their aim to drain what goodness might remain
A sinister conference with but one agenda
No good to be seen sat at the shiny table
Each sought to break a simple soul
Through the night they would plot
Though the motion could not be carried
An empty seat delayed proceedings
Six had come, but not the Seventh
Pride could not bring itself to mention
Greed wanted all the attention
Lust cared only for selfish satisfaction
Envy silently cowered, inferior and resenting
Gluttony gorged upon a feast of starving souls
Wrath banged the table in fitful rage abounding
The missing Seventh too tired to show
Sloth cared not for the proceedings
A lingering hope of salvation remained
Whist six could wreak destruction
Victory tantalizingly incomplete
The power of six depleted
Six plus Sloth would make a powerful seven
Their negative drain would take from Heaven
All souls caught in their deadly web
Yet incomplete, hope still survived

Interesting, and brings to
Interesting, and brings to mind that the disunity of evil can fortunately hinder evil purposes. But also that there is a greater power to restrain and confuse and confound them. Rhiannon
