Tanka written in 2006 about the dead and dying hopefuls from Africa arriving on the 'European' tourist beaches on the Canary Islands being helped by holiday makers. Back then they were send to mainland Spain for processing -- most were allowed to stay. Since then we've lost our hearts.
Sahara beaches
Blue sky empty Atlantic
Tenerife beaches
White fleshed nymphs tend the dying
Surviving dreamers sent home
