How important are web-sites like this? How could I help to publicize this web-site?

Given that so much of popular culture and the media these days is non-political and money motivated doesn't that make web-sites like this very important?

If only there was a way of attracting more readers to this web-site aswell as promoting it as a good
platform for protest and expressing personal views.

Any ideas how I or others could go about publicizing
this web-site other than posting links to it on Forum's/Chatrooms.

I think that's what I'll do. I can go onto internet forums and post links to ABCtales. Would anyone have objections to me doing this?
ABCtales does deserve to be publicised well as it is a great place to share writing, opinions and self expression. I used to go on myspace quite a lot and some of the group discussion sites there were really good, and some of the blog sites were real places of discussion and expression, but they have changed it in various ways and you cannot seem to discuss or comment on blogs in the same way, so ithas become that much more difficult to reach out and discuss or spread ideas. Some great blogs seem to have stopped and all the good conversation seems to have stopped. It seems to be more driven by advertising for already successful films or products. All the interesting stuff has stopped and debate has ended. ABCtales isn't like that at all. Here there is no involvement by big advertisers. Only writers of many styles project themselves and their homegrown creativity. It is something to be cherished. If I had more time I would happily read a lot more of our output and participate more. We should spread the word, but don't let commercial intersts ruin it - I don't think that could happen here anyway.
i've already put a link on my website and facebook from time to time, and mention it to my pals... and people i like! facebook style. we need more commenters people...

maisie angel Guess what?  I'm still alive!

are you on facebook or twitter well wisher? They both have abc pages. If you're on facebook, "share" the link on your page with your friends. I don't know how you would do that on twitter, but I am sure you can somehow

"Websites like this" you say well-wisher, I think ABCtales is pretty unique actually.

Do whatever you can to help publicise the site - put it on your Facebook page, your blog, your Twitter account and let all your friends and relations know about it. There is no better publicity than word of mouth. Thankyou!
Tony, Many of us do just that. I have a substantial body of my works posted at ABC Tales. Whenever someone "googles" my name, they come up with ABC Tales and visit the site. The international visibility afforded us is considerable. I have also received many helpful comments from other gracious writers who have read my articles and took the time to offer helpful comments. And for many of us, whose works will never emblazon the best seller lists, this is as much visibility as our works will ever receive. In the dark days before the internet, many of us labored anonymously over our scribbles. ABC tales has and will spawn and encourage hundreds of writers who will amuse, entertain and enlighten the full spectrum of readers that spans the globe. My compliments to you Tony and all the gracious staff who help you make this site work. Joseph Xavier Martin Amherst, N.Y.

Whenever Tony tweets something (sow, pow), I quickly retweet so my followers can be exposed to it. A few of the more serious writers are turned off by the pseudonyms and I understand this, but I know of at least a few writers who have gone on to create an abc account. I think this place would lose it's appeal if it became too crowded, but users come and go (and uses like me come and go and come back, over and over...).
