Need Some Advice
I have been a member on this wonderful website for a little while now and I am grateful to you all for your work and comments on this site so far. However, in comparison to other writets on this site I seem to be lacking "exposure" and "constructive criticism" towards my past and current efforts to get readers more involved and aware of my work. A little discouraged since I have 40 stories, 3000 reads, and 1 is cherry picked...is there anything I need to improve on? Also, I would like to start a writing group and make excercises for writers to improve on their work as well but my last effort failed. Any advice will help greatly.
Chinobus - this site tends to be peopled by writers and editors who only want to be positive. I have just read your last posted poem and I have to say I struggle to know what style it is you are aiming at. I also think there might be at least one word in there that does not exist...
There are also sentences which suggest real promise.
I would perhaps think the best way forwards is to read some really well constructed modern poetry so you can see what is well regarded. If you want a suggestion from this site Beeme is an incredible young poet. If you want a few hints - Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath or Bukowski are all worth reading.
Perhaps hold off from posting more until you have found your own style.
Hope this helps
