Do like this one - it's got a great balance, the old Jewish woman who is so convinced that God has chosen her language, her people and won't move, but yet is determined not to mindlessly hate. Though I thought the "Schindler's List" reference was a bit heavy-handed in what's otherwise very original.

thanks for the feedback. i'm actually not too keen on the schindler's list bit, but as part of my degree i do creative writing and this was an excercise i was set for class which had to have a reference to schindler's list being on the tv - i think its one of my tutor's pet hates. i might edit it for 'general consumption' and take that bit out.

Hi Belle, this really worked well for me. Maybe you could have added the bit about "Schindler's list" as a footnote to explain the connection. Creative writing courses (or books), are good for getting the discipline, anyway, well done. Lisax
