Inspiration point (IP)

A stitch in time saves nine, good things come to those who wait, the early bird catches the worm, Rome wasn't built in a day ... all proverbs, and there are of course many more! For this week's Inspiration Point, I'd like poetry or prose using at least three different proverbs - they don't have to be from the list above - a quick google will remind you of others if you need more inspiration.
