The Beach
Bouncing balls along the sands
Chasing pack, all at hand.
Striding posers strut their stuff,
Wimpy husbands go off in a huff.
Seaside sweets are near at hand.
Toffee apples dropped in the sand!
Knotted hankies, British made
Keep the white whale in the shade!
Mother calls to stop the toddlers lark,
"Please come out, and don't torment that shark!"
Father reads the paper up real close.
'Least it stops his peeling nose.
A busty beauty passes by,
All the seaside peacocks their colours fly.
Mother tuts, but still remembers when
Father chased her, the fresh young hen.
All is halted by the scream.
Samantha's lost her nice ice-cream.
She didn't mean to do it,
But brother's tease just meant she blew it!
Neatly crowned, smart as a berry
Brother Tom now sports a cherry.
Not on his head has he been crowned,
But up his nose the fruit is drowned!
