The Joy Of Seeing You Again

I walk towards you, stuck in slow motion and uncharacteristically
lost for words, unable to suppress the big smile on my face, as all the
little people inside me clap their hands in joy, yell, jump up into the
air, let off balloons and blow trumpets.
I lower my eyes to hide the fireworks going off in me, and to stop
myself from reaching out and hugging the life out of you, I shove my
hands into the pockets of my jeans.
You're walking towards me, biting your lip to hide a big smile, hands
uncharacteristically hidden behind your back, and your eyes, even
though they capture me for only a split second, shift away in an
awkward way.
But before they do, I manage to see, I swear to God, I saw fireworks in
you too.
