Dear Prime Minister,
I am a sad and lonely old man. Some people refer to me as a miser or
hermit.I have no television or radio, rarely go out and I never buy a
newspaper. I am not tight fisted. The sad truth is that I cant afford
to. My state pension is so low I can just about get by. If you could
help me out in anyway I would be most greateful and you would be sure
of my vote in the next general election.
So please, please Mrs Thatcher could you please raise my pension
allowance.
Thank you,
Ofar Quarson

Dear Mr Quarson,
The Prime Minister has asked me to thank you for your recent
letter.
Mr Blair hopes you will understand that, as the matter you raise is the
responsibility of the Department of Social Security, he has asked that
your letter be forwarded to that department so that they may reply to
you direct on his behalf.
yours sincerely
