If You Could Change Your Life
If in your hand you held a watch, with which to turn back time,
would you turn the key to set the day, or think it as a crime?
You, like most, have one or more days you'd like to change.
Here it is, you have your chance- many months and years your
range.
Think really hard and go back far;
Turn pages one by one before you lay this timepiece down,
to say that there are none.
So many today, I fear would quote, and say
they wouldn't go back, but if they owned this timepiece,
would that mention be so exact?
Would you go back through wasted years, to recall
just one day, to fix regretted blunders of a time so far away?
Would it really be worth the effort to suffer pain once more,
coming back to where you are, on a road you've walked before?
Or is it enough to let time go, and call these lessons taught?
Your mistakes have made you who you are,
and uniqueness cannot be bought.
