Take Me Home

Take me home
Take off my clothes
That's what you want I suppose
Then take a good look
Look at me
Look and tell me
What you see
You'll see I'm jaded, faded, used
I've been eaten up, beaten up,
Ignored and abused
So close the door and turn the key
Its clear that you wont rescue me
That you won't ride for miles on a white horse
I'm no princess in a tower of course
But I am free, free to decide
Free to let you take me for a ride.
I stand here beneath the pulsing lights
Propping the bar up, avoiding the fights
And I catch your eye and smile
Force of habit after a while
I'm sick of you slurring in my face
I need to get out
I need air. I need space.
I need to become something more
Grab me a fish slice prise me from the floor
Mould my filthy mind
Leave my skeletons behind
Lock them up and let them rot
Take me as I am, take everything I've got
Then let me be
Then let me be alone
Turn off the TV and unplug the phone
I'm going home. I'll be alright
There are secrets I can keep forever.
But I need you here beside me
Hold me close and I am safe.
It feels like home.
I am drowning in your eyes.
I am restless and defenceless
and you've seen through my disguise.
Take me home
Take off my clothes
Its what I want
I don't suppose
You do too?
