Some memories are forgotten
Some remembered as clearly as the second it is now,
but look,
a second has passed.
can you paste it in the old scrapbook in the locked up
closet - the one you used to keep with all the
glue stains and indecisive thoughts?
I seriously doubt it.
Look at them.
Can you recall what they have done every second
Can you account for their changes
Can one be still and so serene time doesn't exist?
Since the pen first hit this paper
minutes have passed - around 3
that's 180 seconds now, many more.
Was what you are doing or were doing
valuable enough?
You say, "I could have been doing something valuable
with my time."
You could have been sending your limited funds to
the poor in Africa because they need it more-
or maybe you could have helped someone with a
hard life? Or maybe
you couldn't.
That would take too many minutes, each with 60
seconds.
If a clock stands still, so does time.
Then we'd have an excuse.
