Summer Is A Belgian Beer

Summer is a Belgian beer,
Sipped to the sound of leather on willow,
Sipped on the clipped and manicured lawn,
Sipped while reading Juan Rulfo,
Windows open,
Head on pillow.

Summer is belatedly here,
Bringing bugs buzzing round the kitchen light,
Bringing barbecue sizzles,
Bringing beaches, blankets and boom boxes,
Bikinis filled,
And just a little tight.
