Missed opportunities&;#8230;

I'll never know what might have been.
I lament for that now,
for my missed opportunity.
Oh, to know your touch.
Oh, to have you sharing my bed.
My fantasies troll dangerous lines.
Yet I cling to them and
treasure the things you've told me.
Seven years of time gone by.
Seven years my friend.
Wishing I could know your touch,
while someone else does.
Never realizing all the while,
that you too are wishing the same.
That I was someone else&;#8230;
That I were in some other time&;#8230;
I'm beginning to wish for.
Oh, were it not for complicated circumstances.
