Some time ago you may have heard
I met a guy whose name was Bird
A man of many, many faces
Travelled far to many places
Up in Halton, here in Cheshire
To shake his hand it was a pleasure
He'd travelled up from far away
To speak to us in the H V A
We are a group of volunteers
To hear John Birdc had me in tears
His talk was plain, "the New Big Issue"
Bout homeless folk,I reached for tissue
On that fine day"Our A G M"
We wished him Luck, Come back Again
The day had gone, the room deserted
About the Issue I was Coverted
So now I see the "Issue" seller
I Bung a quid to the"Cold wet fella"
And think again about John Bird
The finest speech I'd ever heard
