If you... had to be in solitary confinement for a week (but it has
lights), what would you want to have with you to pass the time?

Good question. How many things can I take? Assuming that I can only
take one thing, it would be a book, preferably one I haven't read
before. I would probably go for something by Thomas Hardy. For some
reason I have always struggled reading Hardy, which makes me read
slowly, so one book would probably last a week :-) That doesn't mean
that I don't like Hardy, I just need a few attempts at understanding
what he is saying.

Alternatively, I would take a pad of paper and a pen or pencil. If I
can't read a good story I'll attempt to write my own, and I guess I
could write an awful lot in a week.

I guess a computer would be out of the question? :D
