He wanted a dog that did sommersaults
for Dolly Mixture
in a house built by someone who appreciated the plays
of David Mamet.
He wanted a balcony
overlooking the city skyline
which he would gaze at while sipping Champagne
for breakfast
while watching people going to work.
He wanted colour coded remote controls
so that he would know which buttons
changed the movie channels;
which opened the cupboard doors
and which ordered high class escort girls
for the evening.
He wanted pictures on his walls
that would be the envy
of BBC4.
He wanted Picasso's eyeballs
in a jar.
