- Are you saying I’m ashamed of being Pakistani? Why you are here then if you think women can make a change to their country?

- I don’t plan to live here forever, I’m just here to make money for my family, and then I’ll go back, because if everyone left Poland and never returned, where would that leave Poland? Your allowed to choose an identity, Flora, but you will never be free to become who you choose- you want to be British because it represents to you everything that is good, and your prepared to through hell and back to obtain the object of your desire, but when people ask you, where are you from, what do you say Flora?

- Well it’s a bit obvious isn’t really, considering the colour of my skin.

- I’m white! But as soon as I open my mouth, people ask me the same question I say , ‘I’m Polish’, that’s what I am - not who I am! And even if I get married to James and get a passport that says otherwise, that wont change- something’s are deeper and beyond skin.
