Loyalty

When God is Master of your soul,
on troubled waters He pours oil.
On darkened nights a candle flame
gently soothes your silent pain.
But what a journey you must make,
before the hand of God you take.
Your pride discarded on the floor,
as you accept your human flaws.
But He resides upon no altar,
His faith in you, it never falters.
His loyalty to you is plain.
He trusts in you and not in vain.
So, in the face of so much love,
being sent from Him above.
Within that vessel that’s your heart,
ignite that flame of which He’s part.
Then each small flame a beacon makes,
as others see the darkness break.
They catch a glimpse upon the course,
that each has channelled back to source.
Within that light some see emblazoned,
the truth expounded clear and brazen.
Others see misguided notions,
that evoke some strong emotions.
But no points do you wish to make,
There’s no high ground for you to take.
Your loyalty is not in question
You feel no fear when cynics beckon.
For that flame within your heart
The love of God it does impart.
As He loves you, you love Him,
You know His light will never dim.
