Stones versus Daisies

I would like to give you daisies;
Petals of affection,
To flutter with you in the breeze.
All ankles, grass and sun on your hair.
Whispering pollen into the blue;
I’d sing the summer to you;
Let you walk in its fields,
Bask in its shallows,
Wear white cotton clothes and sandals,
With daisies between us.
Instead these are stones;
Gritty and cold to the touch.
You heap them up in solid secret.
Fleshy cages,
Hot blood and skin,
Heavy tides in every glance,
Drowning doubt.
I let you weep;
Surrounded by the night,
Held tight in loyal shadows;
In my arms.
Cracks in the paintwork,
Stains in the bedroom,
(So tight it stops the cold.)
I give you stones,
To keep.

I love this... amazing imagery. The stones are more like reality, I think. Love is hard and gritty.

This one too is interesting.
This one too is interesting. Is it hatred or revenge on the part of the stone giver? Oh well...
