Catch Your Tears

The day her brother died was the worst day ever,
She had thought that the possibilities of him dying would be zero to never.
Hanging her head low she cried,
Hating to hear the news of how he had died.
A knife in the chest, her mother had said,
A knife in the chest and now he was dead.
He lay in the casket, his face so pale,
She hoped the killer would rot in jail.
Crying on the outside,
She was dying on the inside.
Her little brother dead and gone,
His body found on his front lawn.
Her boyfriend at her side,
She cried and cried and cried.
"Now, now," he said,
And lifted her head.
"You go ahead and cry",
"I'll wait until the tears dry".
He said, "In the meantime I will catch your tears,"
"In the meantime I will save you from your fears."
Nodding into his chest she let it all out,
With a shaky breath she heard herself shout.
She shouted out her fears,
She let out her tears.
He caught them like he said,
While her brother lay dead.
