Poem. A frozen Tree.
This frost so harsh now crushes me,
My Winter nakedness cannot protect,
I stand alone, no escape,
--- I am a lonesome tree,
Who, if slight chance came, I would elect
Without delay, to my native forest flee,
Where fellow trees, my sorrow would detect
and offer shelter, in the evergreens’ bushy lee,
Please, Winter, let not your destructive ice, my tender life affect.
